What’s new at Kettle PH

One great thing about having chefs for friends is you get to be their guinea pig. <3 If you’re a fan of KETTLE‘s buttermilk chicken, you will LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Chef Chiloy Santos’ new spin on the Nori Fried Chicken in Matcha Waffle! I guarantee you, it’s love in every bite. In fact nabitin nga ako so I asked for an extra serving of the matcha waffle. No sharing please! :P

Last Tuesday, Kap & I visited the latest KETTLE branch in Newport Mall to try out Chef Chiloy’s SIX NEW RECIPES! Now this is what I’m talking about. For the sake of friendship, I am willing to offer myself as a sacrifice for a taste test, lol! ;P

Resorts World Manila, Newport Mall, Newport Blvd. Domestic Airport, Pasay 8050409, 8050410

Kap & I are armed & ready for the challenge! <3 We both skipped breakfast hehe.

But first, White Sangria with Irene as we waited for Chef Chiloy to bring out his latest creations! Cocktails always puts us in the best of moods hehe! :P

I guess Chef Chiloy wants us to be very VERY happy as he plied us with another round of Sangria right after the first one. Red this time. Cheers, (*hic) !

He actually didn’t need to impress us because we already were. Very much so! This SHRIMP TOSTADA 229 php is a MUST when you visit Kettle. The clean, citrusy taste with chunks of shrimp whets up a mighty appetite. The crispy wrapper adds an extra oomph to the dish. SUPER PANALO in my book! <3

This CHEESESTEAK ROLL 339 php (single serving) comes with sweet potato fries. Sliced ribeye, buttered roll, provolone cheese & banana peppers makes your eyes roll upwards in delight.

For health buffs (like Ate!) try this PAN FRIED HALIBUT 519 php. With chorizo brown rice (yep!), sautéed veggies & salsa verde makes this dish light yet flavorful. Make sure you squeeze in a good amount of lemon juice for a tangy finish!

Seated in the middle is the STAR of Kettle & Fireside, CHILOY SANTOS, the wonder boy! <3 Sorry gals, he’s married & very much taken! ;) Meals with Mr. & Mrs. Tales From The Tummy are always fun, fun, FUN!

My personal favorite, because I’m already huge fan of Chiloy’s buttermilk chicken, the NORI FRIED CHICKEN IN MATCHA WAFFLE 399 php. And no, this nori chicken is slightly different from its sister, the buttermilk variety. You gotta try ’em both! Seriously though, I can’t decide which one I like more. Pwede bang equal nalang??? <3

For guys with big appetites, order the STEAK FRITES 899 php. USDA Angus flank steak served with lots & lots of fries & Kettle steak butter. Garantisadong sarap!

As you can see on Kap’s face, he’s in steak heaven! ;) Just look at that medium rare meat cooked to perfection. Achieve! \m/ Again, the very cute Chef Chiloy is married, ladies. Move on na tayo! ;))

And last but definitely not the least is the contender for my favorite dessert at Kettle, this WHITE CHOCOLATE BREAD & BUTTER PUDDING 229 php. Yes guys, I have officially switched sides! ;) Ito na ang bagong paborito ko! \m/

Now don’t just take my word for it, go to the KETTLE branch nearest you & lemme know which one is YOUR favorite! <3

Thank you Chiloy for a very very fun lunch! As always, YOU ROCK! :-*

The closest Kettle to me is the one at Shang mall, which I only discovered last month (meet-up at Green Pastures restaurant with sorority sisters for a sis now based abroad) had a new building, the East Wing. The shrimp tostada is whispering “eat me…eat me” to my growling stomach. I want to get up now and just go and try Kettle, plus there are free film showings via Cine Europa, same mall, pero parang malungkot mag-isa, hikbi. May ilang araw pa para sa Cine Europa. Matcha is featured at Resorts World restos all of September – yum! Thanks Ms. Jane for this post.

OMG Gilda! Pamatay yang shrimp tostada, super bitin nga ako. Nahiya naman kasi akong magsabi ng “isa pang shrimp tostada joy” kay Chiloy kahit gustong-gusto ko pa hehe. And ok lang to watch mag-isa, you deserve a “me time”. :-*

Did it! Had the shrimp tostada and the Nori (Japanese) Fried Chicken yesterday + Cine Europa films on my treat-myself-day yesterday. Kettle Shangrila mall had not yet changed its menu when I got there at 11:30am. Wala pa yung new items but I ordered them, so binida kita Ms. Jane for my source of knowledge of the new menu additions. Super like the bursting-with-flavors tostada but oh no, bite size bitin lang talaga. The matcha waffle was also a winner for me, but the chicken pieces were aplenty and bit salty for me. Confession: I am not much of a fowl person, and bordering on the bland is my taste of choice, but had to experience Kettle’s chicken. I asked for lemon slices and drizzled it on the now yummy for me chicken. Servers were appropriately attentive, and even Chef Dan introduced himself to me and asked my comments about the food. Overall, a highly positive dining experience.

Yaaaaay! Thank you for trying Kettle, Gilda. Lakas ko talaga sayo. And yes, I also drizzled mine with lemon, lalo na the shrimp tostada, for a citrusy taste. Pareho talaga tayo ng panlasa! :-*
