Celebrations & Occasions Food & Dining

Crimson Romance

As I wasn’t going to be in town for my birthday, okay half of the day since our flight will leave at night, I decided to have a joint V-day & B-day celebration with my mom & MIL a couple of days before my actual birthday.

The oldies don’t like to venture too far out, so I thought of taking them to Cafe Eight at The Crimson Hotel Manila. It’s one hotel in the South that they haven’t tried yet so we all trooped there last Saturday for dinner.

The first time my Lovey & I had a dinner date there less than a year ago, only the antipasti & dessert stations impressed us. We were hoping that this time food has greatly improved with an Italian Chef at the helm.

If the hotel can provide an antipasti & dessert station only at half the price, I really think it would be a great hit.

Then just offer ala-carte for the mains & a separate menu for the drinks.

This is my humble suggestion.

My beautiful, lovable girls. <3

My bully boys. They have a contest on who will give me the most grief in photo ops! :P
Lahat nalang kenkoy pose hmp!

We were very lucky to have arrived early so our group was able to polish off this ONE & ONLY serving of stuffed lobsters.
Sayang, hindi na uli naglabas.

The antipasti table covered a lot of grounds. It has sushi & sashimi, salad, cold cuts, and tacos! <3

Who would think that someone so BIG could have come from someone so fragile & tiny??? ;))

My very happy antipasti plate which was enough to keep the smile on my face the whole night. <3 I just wished for fresher sashimi.

Also from the antipasti round table. Kani salad & tuna sashimi. Would have preferred the tuna spicy, but it was also good the way it was.

Sayang. So many dishes. They could cut their cost by more than a half if they just skip the 2 buffet sections & concentrate on the delectable antipasti spread. <3

I was enjoying the round table too much that I didn’t get to leave room for pasta in my big belly.

Tried this roast beef but I found it dry.. and too cooked. Can you see?
The whole thing was overcooked. Too bad </3

Thank goodness for this delectable dessert spread.
Now this.. I can actually congratulate their dessert/pastry chef for a job well done.
I don’t normally like the dessert spread in big hotels but I like almost everything on this one.

Chocolate covered cereals. So simple yet so yummy. This was the winner for me that night.

Strawberry macarons. My Lovey had a plateful! <3

And the glassed puddings & jelly. I loved them all! <3
Too bad I was seated beside Kap & across my mother so I wasn’t allowed to have a second serving. BOO! :P

Kap loved crepes so I was happy that they offered crepes at the dessert station.
This was all he had. He doesn’t have a sweet tooth kaya hindi niya ako maintindihan kung bakit hindi ko kayang mag-pigil! @_@

Sweetness all around. I LOVE MY BABIES SO MUCH!!!! <3

And they surprised me with my favorite brownies from Mary Grace! <3
Yummy as it is, or heated with vanilla ice cream ala mode.

Thank you so much Mommy for your unwavering support even though I’m so old already, I’m still your baby. Thank you for the love, the attention (kasi KSP naman talaga ako), the care, the understanding. Thank you for my life. <3

Thank you Cafe Eight for my Red Velvet blowing cake.

The kids, being kids, couldn’t stay put and went around the hotel while we were enjoying our coffee (and tea for the oldies). They hurriedly reported to us that there was some ganap outdoors & that we should make usi ASAP!

I loved their rooftop ganap! If only I knew earlier, we could have had the BBQ instead.

There was a surprisingly cool breeze & the music was lively & jovial. Too jovial & lively for the oldies that they requested to be driven home after 5 minutes outdoors. PARTY POOPERS! :(

I don’t know why I so blessed with such great kids. I’m just so thankful that they are in my life! <3

The rooftop BBQ is only until the end of February. I hope we can go back before the Valentine promo ends.

And of course, we can never let our landian moments pass! The kids were delighted, but the old folks kept shushing them & reprimanding us. CORNY TALAGA!

Forgive my patatims. Uy pinapapak kaya ni Kap yan! :P #TMI

45. Sigh. May we never be too old for fun & romance! Thank you God for another year. Please bless me with more to spend with the people I love. <3
