Coco Nail Studio

In line with making my Lovey’s birthday week FUN-tabulous, ate thought of a SPA-rty for us 3 gals. <3 We were bent on making it a week-long fab celebration for our bunso to make up for daddy’s busyness. She read somewhere that COCO NAIL STUDIO had a High Tea spa package, so we went there last thursday afternoon. (We also went there last monday but it’s their designated clean-up/rest day) Unfortunately, they only serve it during weekends, with a 3-day prior notice. Boo!

Since we were already there, and the girls had a ke$ha concert to watch that night, we just went ahead with our SPA-rty plan. But we will be going back soon for that High Tea! :)

COCO NAIL STUDIO just started it’s operations last April, so it’s fairly new. Not having an Alabang Hills sticker, it was somewhat hard for me to take the short cut route. Ang hirap utuin ng guards ha! But if you’re familiar with the West Service Road (? – please correct me if I’m wrong), it’s smack right at the tumbok of it. And it’s worth all the gas I drained going around & around looking for it, lels!

I strongly suggest you give them a call for directions. They are closed on Mondays. Operating hours are from 11AM-9PM Tuesdays to Sundays.

It’s a floor above Pancake House. You have to register with the guard downstairs before going up the elevator.

The very friendly receptionist. :)

We got the Coco Express Maniped 320 php, with add-ons. Gel Polish for me, Chanel (brand) nail polish for ate, and the new Butter London (brand) for my baby girl.

The ambience is so serene & relaxing, it’s like a country home setting. With chillax music that can send you dozing as soon as you sit in their giant comfy couches.

They even have a nook for little girls who also wants some pampering. How cute is that???

To keep the little darlings (or sometimes terrors) occupied while mommy has her beauty moment, the ever thoughtful Salon owner provided books & toys to amuse young kids.

Based on the decors & piped in music, I was able to discern that the owner was a Christian. And justly so, the place had a light, feel-good atmosphere.

It’s my first time to try the GEL NAIL POLISH, so I was excited. Friends have told me how long-lasting & chip-free these polishes are.

What is gel polish?

Gel polish is a new nail salon product that uses colored gel to apply on your nails instead of regular polish. Gel polish feels a little thicker compared with regular polish, it requires 3-4 coats of application. Typical nail polish chips off or wears away after few days. Gel polish lasts much longer (2-3 weeks) and reduces 80% of the drying time using UV rays. It’s a convenient option for situations when you want be in and out of the salon fast, or you want to make sure the polish will stay chip-free during your long vacation.

They have the most beautiful bold, straight-off-the-runway hues. But more importantly, they’re as natural as they can get. 3-free as they call it, formulated without formaldehyde, toulene and DBP.

As soon as we were settled in our cozy cocoons & have chosen our desired nail polish colors, we were asked what refreshments we preferred. We had a choice of either coffee, tea, or pink lemonade. This was compliments of the house. :) I love attention to details that makes you feel right at home. It says “we care”.

And lookee! Our refreshments came with a dainty macaron! <3 How sweet is that? The owner really thought of her customers’ every need.

Steps in applying Gel nail polish:

1.) Rough buffing so the polish will stick to the nails.

2.) Application of solution as primer for the Gel nail polish.

3.) UV lamp to dry the solution.

4.) 1st, 2nd, and 3rd coatings of my Gel nail polish. The UV lamp is used each time for a period of 2 minutes.

5.) After which another coat of solution is used to clean the nails.

6.) Then the application of Vitamin E for the skin because it’s been repeatedly exposed in UV rays.

Tada.. my Fat Fingers with Gel Nails! :P

The day we were there, the salon only had 3 technicians attending to us. I don’t know how many technicians they have in total, and how many are asked to report for duty daily. So it’s really best that you call for an appointment. We got there at 2:30, left at 5. The technicians were very careful & thorough so it really took a while. When you go, make sure you have plenty of time to spare & breathe in the peaceful ambience. And turn off your celphone, woman! ;)

If you do visit, don’t forget to avail of their promo for November:

PS: I don’t know the owner & we paid for ALL the services I mentioned above. If you happen to know where I can put a link for their High Tea sparty package, please let me know. I’ve searched & searched but couldn’t find one. So maybe it’s fate that we MUST return for that! ;)
