Food & Dining

Bon Banhmi

On the last day of our staycation, the front desk officer of Makati ShangriLa, Manila gave us an extension & moved our check-out time to 4PM. Sundays were particularly slow so it was possible. Thank you so much for that, we sincerely appreciate it! <3

I read on Anton Diaz’s RECENT BLOG about a not-to-be-missed Hole in the Wall authentic Vietnamese eatery along San Antonio Village, Makati set up by Ngo Dinh The Thao from Dalat City & the sandwiches looked SOOOO GOOD. So I was happy about the extension because that means I can have some vietnamese goodies delivered to the hotel! m/

Take note that if you will have food items delivered to the hotel, the hotel security does not allow riders to go beyond the check point so you will have to go out & meet them a few meters away from the hotel.

8390 Mayapis Street, San Antonio Village, Makati City, Phils.
Telephone: +632 808 7979 (for delivery)
Operating Hours: Daily 6:30 AM to 11:00 PM.

– They offer FREE delivery (P300+) to the entire of Makati
– Best to order in the morning to get the freshest bread

Here’s the map to go to BON Banhmi:

As we had a late brunch, 3PM was just right for our next meal before checking out & going to church. I called for delivery & made arrangements for the following to be delivered:

I wanted to try all but Beef Banhmi wasn’t available that day. So I ordered the chicken, the pork, and the traditional Banhmi.
Medium 79 php, Large 99 php. Naturally, I had to get the large for my bottomless pit family! ;))

Chicken Banhmi. Vietnamese chicken flake, fresh mayonnaise and Banhmi Vegetable.
I loved how the bread was so crusty & chewy at the same time.

Pork Banhmi. Vietnamese chicken flake, fresh mayonnaise and Banhmi Vegetable.
For 99 php, this huge sandwich was really a steal. <3 The fact that it was oh-so good was a bonus!

Traditional Banhmi. Pork lean past, Sated shredded meat, Pig’s head paste, Boiled Meat, Jambon, Bonbanhmi Special Pate, Mayonnaise.
I liked this the best. <3
Remember to ask for chili paste if you want an added kick.

Fried & Fresh Spring Rolls.
The fried comes with special vinegar, while the fresh comes with peanut butter sauce.

The sandwich is HUGE and is good for 2 if you’re not too hungry.

Because we had spring rolls, the sandwiches were good for sharing.
After all, this was just our snack to tide us over til dinner time! ;))

I’m not a sandwich person but I really loved these baguette sandwiches. I would order them again in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, they only deliver to Makati.

I’ll make sure to take some home the next time I’m in the area. I wonder when that will be! :P
