The Black Pig Revisited

I already went to the Black Pig a while back during its soft opening phase, but RICHARD of TALES FROM THE TUMMY  insisted that I tag along when he got an invite from the very charming MAITA QUESADA –PR Princess extraordinaire, now that the menu has expanded considerably. :) I was only too happy to comply. One, we always have fun chatting & eating with the Co family. Two, I wanted to try more of the latest offerings from THE BLACK PIG, & Kap hasn’t been there. So win-win all around. <3

THE BLACK PIG has a new LUNCH SPECIALS with a choice of either a 2-course menu at 450 php (add 200 for wine), and a 3-course menu at 600 php (add 200 for wine). What a steal, right? I was super excited to bring this information to you because people (even I) have a notion that it’s expensive to eat at THE BLACK PIG. On the contrary, this new Lunch Specials bring affordable to a new level. Even my babyson can take his Katiecakes here for a date & not break his wallet! \m/

For the Lunch Specials, we were given the 3-course menu with wine to try out. This costs 800 php/person. We got to choose 1 each from the appetizer, the main dish, the dessert, and finally the wine list.

 

There were 4 of us dining that day so luckily, we were able to order all four so you can see the various dishes per category. :)

Meringue & marinated mango. (mango sorbet) 280 php. I loved the peppery surprise in the white meringue. It packed a mean punch which I enjoyed & cleansed my palate.

Because THE BLACK PIG knows that although to regular people, this Set Menu is more than sufficient, to us MEGA FOODIES who have superhuman abilities to stretch our tummies well beyond capacity, a little extra means a lot & surely goes a long way. So Anton & Berna were so thoughtful to send more food our way..
