Magbihis na kayo ng pinakamaganda. at kayong lahat ay sa amin sumama. Bakit? Saan ba tayo pupunta? San Antipolo na laging masaya!
Tayo na sa Antipolo, at doon maligo tayo. Sa batis na kung tawagin ay hi-hi-hinulugang taktak. At doon tayo kumain ng mangga, suman, kasoy at balimbing…
I saw this on my dear YEDY’s instagram post & I thought it would be nice to visit her in ANTIPOLO. It was her turn to show me her part of town. Besides, it’s been AGES since I set foot there. It was definitely high time for some kasuy & suman goodness. So together with my 2 favorite R’s, RICHARD & RICHIE with their lovely fambam, we set on a journey up east.
With the lovely YEDY as our guide, we made our initial stop at the first & only SEAFOOD BUFFET in Antipolo. LA TRAVIEZA. Buffet meals are only 279 php during weekdays & 299 php during weekends. Unbelievable, right? I could live in Antipolo with buffet meal prices such as this. But then again they’d have to uproot & transfer Alabang Town Center with all its stores, groceries, and cinemas to Antipolo so I don’t get homesick, teehee!
We were surprised to see this big restaurant in the heart of Antipolo City with spacious parking & air-conditioned dining area. We thought Antipolo was a province, and here we were met with a modern, full-scale buffet restaurant with functions rooms able to accommodate private parties.
Greeting us was the owner & our gracious host ANTHONY PROTACIO. With Yedy’s lovely mom & of course Yedy. <3
Save for a few favorite meat dishes, it was truly mostly seafood!
We feasted on this fresh shrimp soda butter. The skin peeled easily, which is an indication of a shrimp’s freshness.
But this was the winner for the day. My table mates emptied out this tray of Crab in Coco Milk. The staff was quick to replenish, in fairness, after we emptied tray after tray of this fresh catch! <3
My happy plate. That’s Kilawin on the right. I could have existed on fish kilawin alone. The rest are Kaldereta & Bicol Express.
Very happy munchers! :)
Anthony had more seafood dished brought out to our table. And ashamed as I am, I have to admit we polished off everything! :P
Sweet & Sour Alimasag.
Best of all. Travieza swears by its No preservatives, no insta mixes, no meat cubes, and no MSG policy.
To let our delicious seafood lunch settle & let the glaring sun go down a bit while we take a much needed siesta, we proceeded to the new NAILISSIMA SPAwith full massage & waxing services on top of the regular maniped & nail art.
Nailissima Spa & Waxing Salon is located at the 2nd floor of #8 East Rise Building, National Road, Antipolo City (right beside budget lane).
Nailissima Salon is also owned by husband & wife team Anthony & Cristina Protacio.
We were so happy to avail of the 20% discount for all the salon services & made sure we got everything we needed to prettify ourselves. :)
The relaxing couch invited us for a siesta after our heavy meal.
Richard dozed off quickly right beside his ladylove Irene. Seeing them all lovey-dovey, I missed my Kap tremendously huhuhu.
While we were having our spa services done, Yedy was busy unwrapping & serving us these yummy Antipolo goodies.. SUMAN & KASUY!!! <3
Thank you so much my dear YEDY for anticipating our every need. I love you!! <3 You are just the sweetest!!! :-*
Yedy treated us to some yummy suman & kasoy which kept us full during our supposed down time haha.
My pink nails with my trusty pink fan which has helped me cope this sweltering summer! It may be small but it’s truly incr-AIR-dible. I take it with me everywhere!
Of course Richie will go down in history as the funny man! ;)) There really is no dull moment with him around. Rina must have kabag being with this comedian 24/7! ;))
After 3 relaxing hours in the Spa under the professional hands of the lovely ladies having manipeds, foot spas and foot massages, we were ready for our last food trip of the day!
Address: Circumferential Road (beside Hapchan fronting Servitek Tirelandia), San Jose, Antipolo City 1870
Ate matched the interiors, teehee! :P
We started with a Mexican Platter 130 php to gauge the serving size. Quesadillas, Nachos, Taquitos.
Then came this GIANT Louie’s Big Bite Burger 195 php. 6″ double patty burger.
By GIANT, I mean giant. Look, it’s almost as big as my face. And at 195 php only! I’m loving Antipolo more & more! ;))
Grilled Liempo 95 php.
Korean Beef Stew 95 php.
Koobedeh Rice Meal (Bef & Chicken) 115 php. 2 pc. kebab served with grilled onions, tomatoes, and rice or pita.
Their servings are actually big & good for 2 people. Just look at this Green Tea Frappe 110 php. Yes, my girls love green tea whereas I can’t stand even the sight of them. Green is def not my color. :P
Mocha Frappe 115php (12 oz/) & 125 php (16 oz.) This is the 16 oz.
Egg Pie 25 php/slice or 180 php/whole pie.
Cream Cheese slice 90 php.
La Opera Torte slice 50 php.
Cream Cheese Brownie 45 php.
And this ends our Antipolo Tour. Had we more time, I would have loved to visit BALAW-BALAW EXOTIC RESTAURANT & ART GALLERY in Angono Rizal, around 30-45 minutes drive from Antipolo as suggested by Yedy. But it rained really hard so we decided to cut short our trip lest we get stuck in traffic –which we did anyway, lels. Anyway, at least we have another reason to go back & visit her. With Kap this time around, I hope! <3
Balaw-balaw is a delectable appetizer & sauce the Tagalogs serve together with sinigang. It is made from small shrimps mixed with rice gruel & “angkak”, an herb that gives reddish coloring. The mixture is preserved & fermented in earthen jar for 3 days. After this period, Balaw-balaw is ready to be eaten sauteed with young bamboo shoots.
The menu is extensive of authentic Filipino cuisines cooked in the traditional way. An impressive array of dishes such as 12 kinds of sinigang, various fishes, Native to Angono, such as kanduli, hito and dalag.
Exotic fare like itik (native duck), ginataang kuhol, sinabawang balut, and the trademark Minaluto. All serve to showcase the Filipino’s rich cuisine sure to delight every diner’s palette. Classic dishes such as Kare-Kare, ihaw-ihaw and Kaldereta have also been popular. Indeed, the menu is replete with every dish popular in the whole Rizal Province.
Thank you so much dear YEDY for taking us around Antipolo. We really enjoyed the day well spent with you! <3 Thank you also to ANTHONY & CRISINA PROTACIO for welcoming us warmly & over-feeding us! Our trip was extra delightful because you guys spoiled us like crazy. <3
