There’s a new hotel in town that’s fast giving Bellevue a run for it’s money. Acacia hotel is here to stay. Upside is there’s a “network” war going on haha, they are giving promo price to either lure in guests, or maintain guests! :P Works for me.
BUFFET BLOWOUT November 1 to 30, 2011 The celebration continues at Acaci with pocket-friendly buffet rates. Our carving of Roast US Short Plate of Beef, Tempura, Pasta, Mongolian & dessert stations are fast becoming favorites.
Bellevue, on the other hand, is trying it’s best to maintain it’s grip on it’s loyal customers from straying by offering a 4-in-1 package..

My old & dear mommy-friend Faye surprised me by inviting me out to lunch today at Acacia. We haven’t seen or gossiped with each other for more than a year, so it was a truly wonderful surprise, and a lunch I wouldn’t miss.
After exchanging warm hugs & pleasantries, we surveyed the buffet selection & dug in..
Cold Cuts Station..
Sushi & Mollusk Station..
Too bad I was already too full to try the succeeding dishes! :((
My full plates (plural) haha..
Started off with Ginger Soup.. which tasted like GINGER. and nothing but! @_@
My starter’s platter..
My main dish.. Beef belly with mashed potato.
My 2nd main dish teehee.. from the mongolian station! :P
Couldn’t resist a panini from the Panini station (which I didn’t get to take a picture of!)
And finally, my dessert! <3
Had a very pleasant tete-a-tete with Faye…
Of course I wouldn’t let the opportunity pass without making usi the rooms! ;P
The Deluxe Room 4,5k/night (Sunday-Thursday)
Nice pocket garden view..
The Junior Suite 11,900k (Sunday-Thursday)
And.. my verdict? I find the interiors of Bellevue more welcoming and family friendly. Acacia, in my opinion, is more of a businessman’s hotel. No fuss. I found the staircase leading to the dining area really bleh, so narrow and no presentation at all. Unlike the lovely winding staircase of bellevue. The chan brothers, the entire family actually, are really hands on so maybe that’s why it exudes warmth and invitation.
As for the food, the great company more than made up for the lackluster lunch. But I’ll rate it again a couple of months from now. Maybe they’re just having a dry run! ;)
Thank you so much Faye, for inviting me & treating me out to lunch. I had a great time. And I’ve really really been wanting to try this new hotel, it’s like you read my mind! ;) I’m sure the girls will have lots of fun on their play date soon! We love you guys.. always & forever!!! :-*
